About Us

Who We Are

Disability Justice and Mediation Africa (DIJMA AFRICA) is a NON-PROFIT organization registered in Kenya, dedicated to empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through access to justice, mediation training, and advocacy. We champion inclusive dispute resolution by equipping PWDs with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) skills, enabling them to navigate conflicts, advocate for their rights, and build sustainable careers in mediation.

Our Mission

To promote disability justice and Inclusive Alternative Dispute Resolution by providing PWDs with professional training, mentorship, and access to accreditation. We aim to bridge the justice gap for marginalized communities through accessible, affordable, and effective Alternative Justice solutions.

Our Vision

A society where PWDs have equal access to justice, economic empowerment, and leadership in the mediation sector.

What We Do

ADR Training & Certification Pathways (Mediation, AJS & More) – We deliver disability-inclusive Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) training, including Mediation and Alternative Justice Systems (AJS), preparing participants for professional practice and relevant accreditation pathways (including MAC where applicable).

Disability Justice Advocacy & Systems Change – We advance disability-inclusive justice through policy influence, strategic partnerships, awareness campaigns, and practical reforms that remove barriers to access, participation, and dignity for PWDs.

Career Pathways & Professional Growth in ADR – We provide mentorship, supervised practice opportunities, and linkages to panels, institutions, and work opportunities—supporting trained practitioners to build credibility, experience, and income pathways.

Community & Institutional Dispute Resolution Services – We offer mediation and ADR support for disputes in families, workplaces, communities, and institutions—prioritizing fair process, accessibility, and peaceful outcomes.

Industry-Specific Toolkits & Implementation Support – We design and publish practical toolkits that help institutions operationalize disability inclusion in ADR and justice systems (e.g., courts/judiciary, county AJS structures, schools, financial services, workplaces), including training materials, templates, SOPs, and accessibility guidance.
